Dr. Asya Ofshteyn, MD

Dr. Asya Ofshteyn is a skilled colon and rectal surgeon committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality surgical care to the South Bay community. 

 

Partnering with Dr. Aaron Parrish at Boulevard Surgical Associates, she specializes in advanced robotic surgery for colon and rectal cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and diverticulitis, along with a comprehensive range of anorectal conditions.

Growing up in the Bay Area, Dr. Ofshteyn attended the University of California, Berkeley, for her undergraduate studies, where she also earned a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Health Policy and Advocacy. She completed her medical degree at the UCSF School of Medicine. Her surgical training was conducted at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, a leading center for Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis treatment and the hospital with the highest number of colon surgeries in NYC.

 

Dr. Ofshteyn completed her Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, which consistently ranks as the top hospital for Gastrointestinal Surgery in the U.S. and is a high-volume center for robotic colorectal surgery worldwide.

 

Throughout her career, Dr. Ofshteyn has contributed to the field through over 30 peer-reviewed publications and presented her research at national and regional conferences. She is an active member of multiple surgical societies and serves on the Inflammatory Bowel Disease committee for the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS).
